BANDS
RADIO SILENTS
I went from using one guitar, one cable and one amp to a full array of effects pedals, Roland, Vox, Gallien-Krueger and Marshall amplifiers and multiple guitars in this outfit. I can’t believe that I fit all of that gear in the back of my ’67 beetle.
SING SING SLEEPWALKER
I had written countless songs with my brother, Dave. Now, I’m in a band with my other brother, Jeff. I couldn’t have predicted that years in the future my sister, Kelly would act as my manager and representative in New York and Nashville.
THE BEAT CLEAVERS
A complete 180. One guitar, one cable, one amp. 3 powerhouse players. Their reluctant singer steps up to the mic.
HOWLING WORLD
With a stripped down song focused approach, we were an acoustic-electric guitar, bass and drums trio with an occasional sideman filling in some gaps. Mighty fine musicianship, lads.
DAISY CHAIN
A chance gathering of four players far too involved with other projects to keep this one alive. Still, this band was powerful medicine. There was just the right amount of tension and release, the bitter and the sweet, and that secret element of telepathic communication that only playing music with a sibling can provide. RIP Jeff.
THE SPEEDING FERLINGHETTIS
Never meant to be an actual performing band. It was intended to be a self released, self produced swan song basement recording. I was leaving music behind to start a family. It was mixed by the terrific Dave Friedlander of Paisley Park fame. I gave a copy to a friend, who gave it to his friend. In no time, I had label interest and national distribution. So much for retirement.
THE DITTY TWISTERS
This combo grew out of the offices of an ad agency. We went from headlining back yard barbecues and dive bars to playing Horning’s Hideaway, Dante’s, The Kennedy School, The Little Red Shed and MusicFest NW.
